1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
16oz can peas, drained

Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk and drained peas. Heat to boiling. Boil and stir one minute.

Mom made the most delicious creamed peas. She made them in a special pot that we called the "creamed peas" pot.
