2 T. Butter or Margarine
2 T. Flour
2 Cups Flour
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/2 c. shredded cheese, American
4-6 slices of American cheese
1/2 box elbow macaroni

While making white sauce, cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions for cooking pasta that needs additional cooking.

Preheat oven to 375
In a small saucepan, melt butter or margarine.
Then add flour, one tablespoon at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon on medium heat. Cook this pasty substance for about 1 to 1-1/2 minutes, using your spoon to break down the mixture.
Add salt and pepper
Add milk and mix with wire whisk and stir until mixture starts to warm.
Add the shredded cheese and stir until cheese is melted.
In a greased casserole dish, add cheese sauce to cooked macaroni
Top the macaroni with the slices of cheese.
Cook for 20-25 minutes until casserole is slightly browned.

This recipe was a favorite of my Mom's. She served it with stewed tomotoes and green beans.
