2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsps vanilla
Mix all well then add 1 cup boiling water. Mix again- This will help blend all the ingredients.
Bake at 350* in a prepared 9x13 pan - 35 minutes
Round 8x8. Pans - 30 minutes
Test with a toothpick…

Mom said this was Grandma Thompson’s recipe . Aunt Margaret always brought a chocolate cake to the family dinners. I wonder if it was this same recipe?
I just use a chocolate butter cream frosting on this.
