10 ounces semisweet chocolate
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
4 tsp strong coffee
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups chocolate or peanut butter chips
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the chocolate with the butter in a microwave or in a double boiler. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Beat the eggs, sugar, coffee and vanilla for 2 minutes on medium spreed. Reduce speed and add the melted chocolate. Gradually add the flour mixture and continue mixing until incorporated. Stir in the chips and chopped walnuts.
Drop the mixture in heaping teaspoons, about 2 inches apart onto a baking sheet covered in foil. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes. Allow cookies to sit for a few minutes on the cookie sheet, then carefully move to a wire rack. Cool completely.
