1¾ cup Honey Maid Graham Cracker crumbs
⅓ cup butter, melted
1¼ cups sugar, divided
3 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 (21 0z. ) can regular or dark cherry pie filling, optional topping( I like the dark)

In bowl, combine crumbs, melted butter, and ¼ cup or the sugar. Press on bottom and up sides of a 8 or 9 inch springform pan; set aside.
In bowl with electric mixer at high speed, beat cream cheese, remaining sugar and vanilla until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend in sour cream. Spread in prepared pan.
Bake at 350ºF. for 60 to 70 minutes, or until center is set. Turn off oven, leaving door ajar. Leave cake in oven 1 hour. Cool and chill 4 hours at least. Serve with cherries, if desired.

This is the simple and yummy cheesecake I have been making for years. It came from the box of Honey Maid Graham cracker Crumbs. One of Joel and Mandy's favorites! It's good with or without the cherries. Jody thinks the cherries are very necessary, but Joel does not! .
