1 cup plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup whole milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts, chopped

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar, packed
4 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups hot water
whipped topping or vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
1. Stir together the first nine ingredients until well mixed.
2. Put into greased 9 inch square pan.
3. Sprinkle brown sugar and cocoa powder over mixture.
4. Pour hot water over the top. (DO NOT STIR.)
5. Bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes.

The topping seeps through the batter to make a fudge sauce underneath the cake.

Serve with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.

Chris and I first sampled this dessert at Cracker Barrell. When it was removed from the menu, we were sad.
