1/4 cup solid bacon drippings
6 tart apples -- peeled, cored and cut into eights
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup light brown sugar -- packed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Pour bacon drippings into a large skillet. Add apple slices over the bottom of the skillet.

Pour the lemon juice over top of the apples, then the brown sugar and salt.

Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes or until apples are tender and juicy.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
