2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c.sugar
1/3 c. crisco
3/4 c.milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Sauce:
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/3c.water
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar & shortening. Add egg, vanilla & milk. Sift together flour, baking powder & salt into mixture. Bake in a 9x9 pan at350 for 35 to 45 minutes.

Sauce: Cook butter and flour over medium heat, until blended. Add water gradually, stir till boiling. Add salt & sugar, simmer for 3 minutes, then add nutmeg. If you want choc. sauce, add 2 Tbsp. cocoa with nutmeg.
