About 55 cookies
1cup butter
1cup dark brown sugar, packed
1cup granulated sugar
2eggs
1teaspoon vanilla
2˝cups oatmeal
2cups flour
˝teaspoon salt
1teaspoon baking soda
1teaspoon baking powder
12ounces chocolate chips
14-ounce milk chocolate bar
1˝cups chopped nuts

Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2
Cream together butter and both sugars. Stir in eggs and vanilla.

Step 3
Finely grind oatmeal (use rolled oats not instant) in a blender or food processor. Combine the oatmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and soda in a medium bowl, and slowly add it to the wet ingredients. Beat just until combined. Grate chocolate bar using a microplane grater and add it (if you don't have a microplane you can blend it together with the oatmeal in a food processor), along with chocolate chips and nuts to the batter. Mix just to combine.

Step 4
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.

*** I baked these cookies in the mid 1990s and loved them. I've never found a chocolate chip cookie that I liked better than this.
