6 Tbs. Unsalted butter at room temperature
⅓ C. Packed dark brown sugar
½ C. Granulated sugar
1 Lg. Egg
1 tsp. Pure vanilla
1 C. All Purpose Flour
½ tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp Coarse Salt
1 C. Semisweet chocolate chips
1 C. Optional chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350º In large bowl combine softened butter and sugars with wooden spoon. stir in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. spread mixture in to a greased 10" cast iron skillet and smooth the top. Bake until cookie is golden brown and the center is set. about 18 min. Let cool for 5 min before cutting to serve.

This is a Martha Stewart recipe and it is so easy and so good. Also, it's fun to serve a "wedge" of cookie! Of course topping it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream takes it to another level!
