For the cupcakes:

1 box Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake mix
1 box Chocolate pudding mix
3 eggs
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 cup water

For the frosting:

1 stick butter, softened
8 ounces Crisco
½ cup maraschino cherry juice
4 cups confectioners sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. In a mixing bowl blend together the ingredients for the cake. Mix according to directions. Evenly distribute batter between 24 cupcake liners. Bake according to directions.

To make the frosting combine the butter and the Crisco until well blended. Add the cherry juice and then slowly add the confectioners sugar. Once the frosting is blended beat on high for 2 minutes or until light and fluffy. If the frosting is too thick, add more cherry juice, 1 tablespoon at a time. If frosting is too thin, add more confectioners sugar. Place in a piping bag and frost all cupcakes. Top with a maraschino cherry is desired.
