1 1/2 C unsalted butter cold
5 C powdered sugar
2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 T heavy whipping cream or milk
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Cut the butter into pieces. Using the paddle attachment, whip butter for 5-7 minutes, scraping down the bowl occasionally, beating until the butter looks light in color.
Add 2 C of powdered sugar and mix on low speed until incorporated. Add vanilla extract and mux to combine. Beat for about 60 seconds.
Add 2 C powdered sugar in the same way. Increase to medium high for 3 minutes.
Add last cup powdered sugar along with cream and salt. Beat on low until ingrediants start to mix. Increase to medium high for 3-5 minutes.


* For a less sweet frosting substitute 1/2 cup corn starch for the sugar
