6 (2.5 oz.) Milky Way candy bars
1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, divided
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 T. baking soda
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 T. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped nuts

In a heavy bottomed saucepan or double boiler, heat candy bars and 1/2 cup butter over very low heat, stirring constantly, until melted. (about 10 min.)

Beat remaining 1/2 cup butter or margarine with the sugar in a medium bowl until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir together baking soda and buttermilk. Gently fold flour into egg mixture alternately with buttermilk. Fold in melted candy mixture, then stir in vanilla and nuts.

Pour batter into a greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan or a 10" tube pan. Bake in a preheated 350º oven until top springs back when touched lightly, about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Cool in the pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. remove cake from pan and let cool completely. If wrapped in foil, cake can be frozen. When it is defrosted, it tastes like it was just baked!
