3 cups of shredded turnips
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
1/2 cups raisins
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp lemon juice.

Directions:

Using a wooden spoon, mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Chill for a hour.

While chilling, take the tops from the turnips and cook the greens with a little country ham which will give them a nice smoky flavor. Yum.

Mom and dad loved turnips and turnip greens. Most of the time she would cook the greens with hog jowl for a long time with a lot of salt. This was one of their favorite vegetables.
