Ingredients: 2 packages kielbasa 1 large yellow onion 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. Worcestershire 1 c. water olive oil dash or two hot sauce (this does not make it spicy but just a little tang)
**I use sriracha instead of hot sauce, and I like it spicy so I use about 2 tsp. - use as much or as little as you would like of either type but I wouldn't suggest more than a couple of teaspoons.

Directions:Preheat oven to 375º. Slice kielbasa into about 1/4 inch slices (or a little bit bigger but not too thick). Heat a Dutch oven (or any casserole/cast iron dish/pot that goes both on the stove and in the oven) over medium high heat. Add a very small amount of olive oil to the bottom of the pan to get the kielbasa started. Brown kielbasa one batch at a time and then remove leaving the oils/fats in the pan. Add onion and cook for a minute or two alone. Add Worcestershire, brown sugar, hot sauce/sriracha and water and bring to a boil. Once boiling add kielbasa back to pot and put pot in oven uncovered. Bake for 1 hour, stirring twice during cooking (at 20 min and 40 min) so that sauce gets thick and sticky. Let sit for about 5-10 min before serving. Goes good over white rice or also on a sandwich. |

Notes: Might sound a little crazy but this is soooooo good - sweet and salty (and spicy if you like)!
