1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup margarine (do not substitute)
2 eggs
1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 cups flour
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup raisins, plumped with 3/4 cups boiling water (reserve 1/4 to 1/2 cup water to add to batter)

Frosting:

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon maple syrup flavoring

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Drop cookies on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

For frosting, bring first 3 ingredients to a simmer. Add powdered sugar and maple syrup flavoring. Frosting will appear runny at first and then get harder. If it gets hard before you’re done working with it, you can reheat it to soften it.
