1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved lengthwise
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 tablespoons water 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
4 or 5 strips of bacon, diced and fried crisp

Directions:
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Place Brussels sprouts in an, cut side down; cook 4-5 minutes or until bottoms are browned.
Add cranberries and water; cook, covered 1 -2 minutes until sprouts are tender crisp. Stir in walnuts; cook and stir until water is evaporated. Add bacon crisps.

NOTE: The original recipe called for 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar stirred in at the end. My gang (especially me) doesn't like the vinegar so I substituted the bacon.

Confession: When I told you about this recipe, I said pomegranate seeds. I should have said cranberries. Dingy.

However, you can take a tablespoon of pomegranate seeds in the bottom of a flute and pour champagne to normal level. The red pomegranate seeds with do a lovely dance going up and down. Really neat when you are just a bit tipsy!
