PUDDING:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 beaten egg yolks (reserve whites for chocolate "kiss")
1 beaten egg
2 cups milk, scalded
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

CHOCOLATE "KISS":
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 egg whites
1 - one ounce square of unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt

PUDDING:
Combine sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks and whole egg. Slowly add small amount of milk; blend; stir into remaining milk. Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly. Cool; add vanilla. Pour into sherbet glasses and chill.

CHOCOLATE KISS:
Gradually add powdered sugar to stiffly beaten egg whites; beat until sugar is dissolved. Slowly add melted chocolate, then add vanilla and salt. Place a "kiss" on each pudding and chill until served.

This pudding was one of dad's favorite things. The recipe was from mom's Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book that was a wedding gift from a college friend. The recipe was called "Pompadour Pudding" but dad renamed it "Chocolate Kiss."
