"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Directions:
Melt over hot water the butter and cocoa. Add powdered sugar, egg and vanilla, set aside. Mix together nuts, crumbs and coconut. Add to first mixture. Mix well. Press into bottom of 9"x13" pan. Chill. Mix butter, cream and vanilla. Add pudding mix and cook one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar; blend well. Spread over first layer. Melt bar and spread over top. Chill, very important. Bring mixture to room temperature before cutting bars, they will crumble otherwise. Store bars in refrigerator until ready to serve.

A similar dessert my mom used to make when I was growing up. It had a different name, but I don't remember it, but as a "church lady"...
