2 Cups sifted Flour
¾ Cup Sugar
3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Cup Coarsely chopped Walnuts
1 Cup medium thick Applesauce
2 Teaspoons melted Shortening
1 Egg, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add beaten egg. Add the applesauce. Stir together both mixtures – only until blended. Add nuts. Pour into greased pan. Bake one hour at 350 degrees.
