1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. brown sugar

Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide-mouth 1 quart canning jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredient. Attach a gift tag with mixing and baking instructions:

Oven: 350º ~ Yield: about 3 1/2 dozen cookies
Beat 1 c. Crisco with 2 eggs in a large bowl. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients and mix well. Add additional flour if needed to make a stiff dough. Chill 30 minutes, shape into 1-inch balls and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
