1 c sifted flour
1/4 c sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c quick or old-fashioned oats
1/2 c raisins
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten
1 c milk
Topping:
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder & salt together in mixing bowl. Stir in oatmeal & raisins. Add oil, egg & milk. Stir only until dry ingredients are moistened. Fill greased (or lined) muffin cups 2/3 full. Mix together topping ingredients and sprinkle over the muffin batter. Bake 15 min.

This recipe is from my favorite cookbook- the More-with-Less Cookbook by Doris Janzen Longacre. It is my favorite cookbook, & I used it more than any other one I own. It is very stained and worn, but I still use it now. The boys loved these muffins when they were little.
