6 slices of fatty bacon, cut in to small pieces
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
Large bowl of lose leaf lettus
green onion

Directions:
Directions:
Wash lettus and dry on paper towel, tear into bit size pieces. Cut up green onion and add to lettus.

Cook bacon until golden brown. Remove the bacon pieces and plice on the lettus, reserve bacon grease. Sprinkle sugar in the bacon grease and heat on low heat until the sugar is disolved. Pour vingar in the bacon grease/ sugar. Careful the grease will splatter when the vingar is poured into the mixture. Heat until the bacon grease is liquified. Pour bacon grease mixture on lettus and enjoy.

Wilted lettus is a favorite spring time recipe of the family. Every year one of the first harvest from the garden is loose leaf lettus and green onions.
