2 lbs. dried beans
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon dried mustard
pepper to taste
dash salt
two pieces salt pork 1" by 1"
one medium onion

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º Soak beans over night.
peel and quarter onion. put in the bottom of bean pot
put beans on top of onion. Mix together sugar, molasses dried mustard, salt, pepper, and 6 cups of water. Mix well. Fill up to the top covering beans. Place both pieces of salt pork on top. Bake uncovered 7 hours, check hourly and add water mixture as needed. Reduce temp. in oven to 250º for the last hour. Total 8 hours. Cover and let set for 1 hr. before serving.
