8 or more pieces of bacon, fried, sliced and crumbled
2 large onions, sliced
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 (16 ounce) can butter beans
1 (16 ounce) can lima beans
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans
1 (16 ounce) can green beans
1 (32 ounce) can Bush Baked Beans

Saute onion in bacon grease, add brown sugar, garlic powder, vinegar and mustard. Simmer 20 minutes. Meanwhile, drain and stir together butter beans, lima beans, kidney beans and green beans. Stir in baked beans and top with bacon mixture. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

Duke LOVES beans! So there may be a few bean recipes in this book. However, beans make a great side dish and they are full of protein. This recipe is from the Legacy Drive Baptist Church book. There were some great cooks there at that church. Loved that place!
