2 Tbs. Olive oil uncooked Jasmine or
˝ cup chopped onion
1 small clove garlic, optional
˝ lb. ground beef (optional)
1 cup uncooked Jasmine or Basmati rice
2 cups chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium skillet heat oil and sauté onion & garlic until soft. Then add rice and continue to sauté until golden. Add chicken broth, bring to a boil and stir. Cover and cook 20 minutes or until all the liquid has been absorbed. Remove from heat and stir to fluff rice. Let sit, covered for five minutes before serving

Always use a heavy bottom pan or cast iron skillet. Make sure the cover sits tight on the pan.

If adding ground beef, add after the onion and garlic. Sauté until all pink is gone. Substitute Beef broth for chicken broth. Any herb or spice that is desirable can be added to the rice mixture. Cinnamon with beef is often done in Greek cooking and serving it with plan yogurt on the side is common.
