5 lbs. shredded cabbage
2 1/2 tablespoons salt
water to cover

Directions:
Directions:
Pack cabbage in a stone jar and cover with salt and water mixture. Let stand for about 10 days.
Remove from stone jar, heat, place in sterilized jars, then seal with sterilized lids.

If there's not enough brine to cover all jars, add mixture of 1 tablespoon salt to 1 quart water (enough to cover well).
