1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sifted confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together thoroughly butter, sugar and vanilla. Sift together and stir flour and salt. Mix in chopped nuts. Chill dough. Roll into 1" balls and place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400º F for 10-12 minutes. Bake until set. but not brown. while still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.

This recipe was found in Grandma Clara Ready's recipes it looks like it came out of the Betty Crocker Cookbook she used. She used it so much is was falling apart mostly due to age.
