1 1/2 C flour
1 1/4 C steel cut oats
1/4 C sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 C melted butter
1/2 C milk (add about 1 tsp if needed)
1 egg beaten
1/2 C fresh or frozen blueberries

Egg wash:
1 egg beaten
2 Tbsp sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 450ºF. In a bowl, pour milk over the steel oats to soak while measuring other ingredients. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Combine melted butter and egg. Stir in wet ingredients, including the milk and steel cut oats into flour mixture with a fork just until the mixture holds together. Add additonal tsp of milk if needed. Add fruit
With floured rolling pin, lightly roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/2" thickness. Cut with floured round cookie cutter, re-rolling dough if necessary. Arrange scones on ungreased baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle sugar over tops of scones. Bake for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Then cool on rack.
