1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup Wesson oil
1 cup blackberry jam or jelly
3 eggs
3 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl cream together sugar and oil. Add blackberry jam or jelly. Add 3 eggs one at a time and beat. In separate bowl mix dry ingredients. Then add into the moist mixture with beater on medium speed (very hard to mix). Add buttermilk and chopped walnuts. Bake slowly for 1 1/2 hours or longer at 275º to 300º.
