1 lg pkg. frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
1 1/2 c of sour cream
2 (8oz) c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 can of cream of chicken soup or mushroom soup
1 med. chopped onion (optional)
1/2 c. butter melted
salt and pepper to taste

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Transfer to ungreased baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350º for 1 hour or until heated through.
