1 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, separated
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
3/4-1 c. chopped nuts
strawberry jelly

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter,sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt. Roll dough into balls (aprox 1 t.)
Beat egg whites with fork. Dip balls in egg whites . Roll in nuts. Place about 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet; press thumb in centers. Bake at 350º for 10-12 min. While warm fill with jelly. Makes 5-6 dozen.

This is from Grandma's "Betty Crocker Cooky Book". A Christmas must! Dad loves these. I use pecans but you can use walnuts.
