½ lb chestnuts
¾ cup butter/margarine
¼ tsp pepper
1 Tbsp poultry seasoning or to taste
24 slices cubed bread, dried
1 cup water
4 stalks celery/diced
1 ¾ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer chestnuts in water about 10 minutes. This will allow the nut meat to loosen from the shell. Chop chestnut meats. Simmer 1 cup water, margarine/butter, celery, chestnut meats, onions until tender. Pour over bread crumbs and season w/poultry seasoning to taste.
