1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 heaping tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup mashed cooked sweet potatoes
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) softened butter
2 to 4 tbsp milk (depending on the moisture of the potatoes

Directions:

preheat oven to 450º
sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
in a large bowl mix sweet potatoes and butter
add four mixture to the potato mixture and mix to make soft dough
add milk a tbsp at a time as needed
turn dough out on four board and kneed until dough is smooth
roll out to 1/2 inch tick and cut with biscuit cutter
place on greased pan and coat tops with melted butter
bake for 15 minutes
watch and if biscuits are browning to fast lower temperature

The Holmes family LOVED when Aunt Jewel had a batch of these in the oven. They smelled delicious and we couldn't wait for them to come out of the oven. I would ask her to share the recipe and she would say, "Gosh, Judy, I don't remember....a little pinch of this and a little pinch of that".
