1 pint Apalachicola oysters
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup milk
magic/salt/pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter, but do not brown.
Add oysters (in own juice)
Simmer about 8 minutes until edge of oysters curl.
Add a dash of magic and salt/pepper to taste.
Heat milk and cream, but do not let boil.
Add to oysters.

I still don't know why, but oyster stew is a Christmas tradition. We used to always have it on Christmas eve.
