1 c. pecan pieces (not the fine chunks, nor the whole pecans)
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine pecan pieces, corn syrup, sugar, and salt. Microwave on high in a large bowl for 7 minutes. Add the butter and microwave again on high, for 2 minutes. Add the vanilla and baking soda. Working quickly, spread out on a lightly greased baking sheet and allow to cool. After cool, turn the candy over and wipe the grease off the back. Break into large chunks and enjoy.

Did you know? When children, cousins Henry and Kelley Allison started their love for cooking with a purple birthday cake, for Kelley's sister, Kim. It was two layers, but it wound up on the floor, because the icing was so thin. Thank goodness their cooking abilities have improved over the years!
