Brownie layer:
1 1/4 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter or margarine
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 t. instant coffee powder dissolved in 2 T. water
3/4 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
Truffle layer:
1 c. chocolate chips
1/4 t. instant coffee
1 pkg. (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. seedless raspberry preserves
1/4 c. powdered sugar
Glaze:
1/4 c. chocolate chips
1 t. solid vegetable shortening

Brownie layer: Melt chocolate chips in butter, cool slightly. In large mixer bowl at medium speed beat brown sugar and eggs until blended. Add chocolate mixture and dissolved coffee and beat well. Stir in flour and baking powder. Spread evenly in 8 or 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350º for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Truffle layer: Melt chocolate chips with coffee powder. In a small mixer bowl at medium speed, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. At low speed, beat in chocolate mixture and powdered sugar. Beat until fluffy. Spread over cooled brownies.
Glaze: Melt chocolate chips with shortening. Drizzle over truffle layer.
Chill 2 hours and cut into bars. Cover and store in refrigerator.
