Cake:
Sift together in large mixing bowl:
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp salt

Put in pot:
1/2 c. Crisco
1 stick oleo
4 tbsp cocoa
1 c. water
Bring to a slow rapid boil and pour over flour mixture. stir well and add:

1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla

Icing:
1 stick oleo
4 tbsp cocoa
6 tbsp milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Cake: Mix well and bake 20 minutes at 400º in a 13x9-inch pan.

Icing: Melt oleo, cocoa, and milk in sauce pot and bring to boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and 1 c. chopped pecans. Beat well
Spread over cake as soon as you take cake out of oven.

Prepare the icing while the cake is in the oven.
