1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup dark molasses
2 T vinegar
5 cups flour
1 T ground ginger
1 T baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients. Divide the dough into baseball size balls. Wrap with plastic and chill for at least an hour.

Roll dough on lightly floured surface. About 1/4 " thick - cut into 2" to 3" circles. Place about 1" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 - 15 minutes. Remove cookies and cool on wire rack.

2 T butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
3 T milk or cream

Beat until smooth. Spread over top of cooled cookies. ENJOY
