2 egg whites, beat with mixer until stiff
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Have trays of waxed paper cut and laid out in advance. Cook sugar, water, vanilla and syrup over medium to low heat, stirring continuously. (Test for readiness by dipping a spoon into mixture and allowing a drop to fall into a cup of cold water. When you can form a ball with your fingers, it's ready). Pour hot mixture over egg yolks and stir with wooden spoon. Once mixture begins to stiffen, add nuts and stir until blended. (You may also add a couple drops of food coloring to add a festive touch) Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
