2 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4-1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp.sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flours, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar. Cut in the shortening. Add the egg and milk. Knead lightly on a floured surface. Roll or pat gently to a 1 inch thickness.cut into biscuits. Bake 12-15 minutes in a 450 degree oven. Makes 20 biscuits.
