4 oz. (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup dairy sour cream
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. taking powder
1 tsp. salt
FROSTING:
3 oz. (3 squares) unsweetened chocolate
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans (I use a large rectangular pan for a single layer). Melt chocolate in small pan over low heat, stirring constantly - cool. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, shortening, water, eggs, vanilla and cooled chocolate; blend well. Combine flour, sugar, soda, baking powder and salt into liquid mixture. Beat for 3 minutes. Pour into prepared pan(s). Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and then remove from pan. Frost cooled cake.
FROSTING:
Melt chocolate. Cool. In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, sour cream and butter; blend well. Beat in cooled chocolate, milk, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
