2 T. butter or margarine
1 medium onion, chopped
3 T. parsley, chopped
2 T. flour
2 T. water
1 tsp. salt
⅓ tsp. ground white pepper
˝ tsp. grated lemon peel
2 pkgs. frozen green beans french style thawed.
1 C sour cream
˝ C shredded cheddar cheese
˝ C dry bread crumbs.

Directions:
Melt butter in skillet or saucepan. Add onion and parsley. Sauté onion until transparent. Gradually stir in flour, then water, salt, pepper, and lemon peel. Simmer for about 3 minutes. Add beans and sour cream. Mix well. Place into 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle on cheese then crumbs.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.

This is one of my favorite recipes that my grandmother used to make. We always fix it at Thanksgiving. Comfort food.
