1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
1 c. finely chopped pecans
2 Tbs. granulated sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Confectioners sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except confectioners sugar. With hands, mix until thoroughly blended. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375ºF. Using hands, roll dough into balls 1 1/4" in diameter. Place, 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 15 to 20 min, or until cookies are set, but not brown. Let stand 1 min before removing from cookie sheets. Remove to wire rack; cool slightly.
4. Roll in confectioners sugar while still warm; cool completely. Just before serving, re-roll in sugar.

For best flavor, use butter. Hazelnuts can be substituted for the pecans.
My son dubbed these "Crack Balls" while he was in Iraq, because they are "addictive".
