1/2 cup butter, margarine, or shortening
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 Egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
3/4 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
Granulated sugar
Salted peanuts (halved)

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Press a few peanut halves on balls of dough. Bake cookies in moderate oven (375º) for 8-10 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheet and remove to cool completely.
