1 package stew beef (lean chunks of beef)
4-5 white potatoes, washed, peeled and cut into chunks
2-3 stalks celery, washed, cut into pieces
2 handfuls of baby carrots
1 large onion, chopped
1 large can tomato puree
1 small can crushed tomatoes
salt and pepper
garlic salt or powder
dash of sugar
dash of Kitchen Bouquet
1 Datil Pepper (optional)

2 c. rice (cook while stew is cooking)

Directions:
Directions:
Trim fat and grizzle from meat and cut meat into bite sized pieces. In large pot, brown meat and onions with salt, pepper and garlic salt. If meat sticks, add a small amount of water. Once meat is cooked, drain excess fat and return to pot. Add vegetables, tomato puree and crushed tomatoes. Stir well. If too thick, add some water. Cook slowly until meat and vegetables are tender. Add dash of sugar to cut acidic, tomato taste. If desired, add datil pepper to simmering mixture. Allow to simmer for another 15 minutes. When cooked, add a splash of Kitchen Bouquet to turn stew to a browner color.

Serve over rice and enjoy!
